ABOUT
Hi! My name is Jacob Aldrich. I am a student majoring in Pure Mathematics and Data Science at UC Berkeley with an emphasis in Computer Science. In my free time, I like to play piano, teach computer science to high school students, watch/create YouTube videos, and learn about various random subjects like

- Music Theory
- Web Design
- etc.
WORK
Taught Data C8 (Introduction to Data Science) and CS61C (Great Ideas in Computer Architecture) classes at UC Berkeley as a member of course staff. Each class had over 1000 students at the time.
Participated in 3 undergraduate research projects for UC’s Data Science Discovery Program and UC’s Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program. These include a Devops project, a data entry project in Excel, and a data analysis project.
Have a leadership position at one of UC Berkeley’s largest CS mentorship clubs, Berkeley ANova. Handle logistics of 60+ mentors going to 8 schools in the Bay Area, empowering hundreds of underrepresented minorities to learn computer science.
PROJECTS
DATA SCIENCE PROJECTS: Have created Linear Regression, Support Vector Machine, Logistic Regression, Random Forest, etc. algorithms to do things like: Detect housing prices in an area to examine whether or not there was a bias towards undervaluing and overvaluing certain neighborhoods, detect spam in emails, or classify handwritten digits.
COMPUTER SCIENCE PROJECTS: Have created various programs in Python, Java, C, and HTML/CSS/JS (Obviously). These range from games, to data structure implementations, to implementing very efficient algorithms to do certain tasks such as matrix multiplication or fast fourier transforms.
